Costco posts net sales, comp increases in January

Costco Wholesale Corporation today reported a 6% year-over-year increase in January sales to $7.99 billion.
Excluding negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, the warehouse club's comp store sales for the four-week period, which ended Feb. 2, came in at: 5% for the U.S., 8% for international, and 6% for the total company.
Year to date, net sales grew 6% to $46.32 billion, and comps - excluding negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange - were up 5% in the U.S., 7% internationally, and 5% for the total company.
