Merritt International is introducing four new heavy-weight melamine collections for 2015, including Tuscan Sun, Pine Ridge, Seaside Postcard and English Garden, during the January gift and home market season.
SUN VALLEY, Calif. -- Merritt International is introducing four new heavy-weight melamine collections for 2015, including Tuscan Sun, Pine Ridge, Seaside Postcard and English Garden, during the January gift and home market season. The new collections will make their initial debut at the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market on January 5.
Within the Seaside Postcard collection, antique nautical icons continue as a trend with a timeless yet classical appeal. In the English Garden, vibrant pastel hues set an outdoor garden party mood with bold blossoms and coordinating solids. Warm pine cones and emerald ferns against a sponge-like textured background are featured in the Pine Ridge design. Highlighting the 2015 introductions is the Tuscan Sun and Coral Sandstone coordinating collections that provide color, texture and sparkle in earth tones. A raised pearl border provides a fine china look without the fine china required care.
“Anyone picking up the product for the first time is amazed that it is not ceramic,” said Kimberly Plummer, sales and marketing manager for Merritt. “You really have to touch it as the look is deceiving. The heavy weight of the melamine, coupled with our textured finishes and embossed designs, create a sophisticated yet authentic looking dining experience.”
During the launch of the 2015 collections, Merritt will showcase the designs in a new show space focusing on intimate “table stories” – or dining vignettes. Each table will be set with a different collection utilizing a design or color scheme that includes Merritt’s coordinating drink ware and placemats to complement the dining plates and serving pieces. All new products will be available for shipment by the middle of February.
“Each table will be a merchandising masterpiece, detailing the mix-and-match possibilities for which Merritt is known,” said Plummer. “It really is one-stop shopping. You can set your entire table with Merritt products.”
Merritt also has a new drink ware introduction that’s rivaling its best-selling Rainbow collection. Named Peacock Teardrop, this drink ware features a two-tone blue and green prism base.
In the placemat arena and coming on the heels of Merritt’s popular fishnet placemats, is a new line of boutique fashionmats created with an angel-hair pasta-like weave called “Spaghetti.” Other new placemats include designs are made with Tesselate and rattan.
Subsequent to the Atlanta International Gift Market, the new introductions from Merritt will be on display in showrooms at the Dallas, Las Vegas, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis and the Seattle gift shows and markets. The intro season will culminate in Chicago at the 2015 Housewares Show in March.
