WASHINGTON — Hobby Lobby Stores is recalling 1,400 accent chairs that can collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on its website Thursday. It involves a black wooden accent chair with a shaped wood top rail, a center back splat and a chevron print on the seat.
The chair has the item number 5218300 and a PO number 9099294 printed on a hangtag and on a tag affixed to the bottom of the seat, the CPSC said.
The chairs were made in China and imported by Hobby Lobby Stores of Oklahoma City. They were sold at Hobby Lobby Stores nationwide from March to August 2013 for $180.
Hobby Lobby said it has received one report of the chair collapsing. Consumers who have purchased the chair have been advised to return it to their nearest Hobby Lobby location. Consumers with a purchase receipt will receive a full refund and those without a receipt will receive a store credit.
